Ethics and Community

To advance the land-grant mission of Iowa State University, the Ethics Hub is committed to engaging communities with the best that philosophy has to offer. 

In partnership with Civic Engagement in Extension and Outreach, we give public lectures, host community conversations, and facilitate workshops on ethical issues of common concern. Examples of past work include addressing the Iowa State Association of Counties Annual Conference on civility, running a public education series on classical ethical ideas for the Lyceum Movement, facilitating workshops on the ethical use of AI for academic libraries, promoting and hosting the Ethics Bowl for high school students across the state, and leading 4H students in discussions of the moral dilemmas of technology.
